Happy Birthday to my little man Porter! It seems like it was just a few months ago that I introduced you to the world. Nothing can adequately describe how it feels to be a parent. How it is to love a child, your child. How humbling it is. How rewarding it is. How happy and sad it can make you. Parenting seems to be full of all sorts of contradictions come to find out.
Honestly I wasn't prepared to love this way, this much, with sooo much of me. I never understood or could even grasp what people meant when they spoke of a mother's love. It has been an exceptional year thanks to you Porter. You bring out the best in me everyday.
